That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s why when i came yesterday to the special parliamentary committee, i was certain that i will not fall on deaf ears, and i might have a way to persuade them that peace is the way, and that the internet is discourse.  Although i did my best, the committee was eager to hear about how Israel is dealing with \u00e2\u20ac\u0153<strong>Hasbara<\/strong>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (a word why literally translates to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Explination\u00e2\u20ac\u009d but is closer to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Information\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Public Relations\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Propaganda\u00e2\u20ac\u009d) on the web. They mostly wanted to hear how are we winning in surveys on major websites and why everyone, besides the United States, hates us.<\/p>\n<p>I came to talk about what are the Lebanese doing and what can be gained from cooperation with them, they wanted to hear about literal violence.  Even Nir Ofir from <a href=\"http:\/\/tapuz.co.il\">Tapuz<\/a>, which offered Lebanese (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.themarker.com\/tmc\/archive\/arc.jhtml?ElementId=lh20060719_321478&#038;origin=ibo&#038;layer=headlines&#038;layer2=&#038;layer3=\">hebrew link<\/a>) to Blog on their website, didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have the chance to explain about their actions, but only to hear again and again questions phrased like \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We are the ones who hold technology, how come we aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t winning the war on the net?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ynet.co.il\/articles\/0,7340,L-3281689,00.html\">hebrew link<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think we should \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Win\u00e2\u20ac\u009d the war on the net, but we should end it.  Even the Israeli Hasbara couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t explain why UN officials <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adnki.com\/index_2Level_English.php?cat=Politics&#038;loid=8.0.324860814&#038;par=0\">were killed<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0 in lebanon without any cause, and rumours are that the UN notified Israel about their location and requested them not to bomb.<br \/>\nI\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m getting sick of this war, soon i\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll start protesting against it, and not only think that we should end it by disarming Hizbullah.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>** The site wasn&#8217;t hacked. it was down because of a cPanel upgrade, and is ok. thanks for your concern.
