the enemy of the enemy

Enemy of the Enemy is a Friend (Til he’s the enemy again)

Babylon is really burning this time coming home to roost on a Soviet landmine

Climbing out the subway burning eyes spinning head

Walking through the. station breaking into a cold sweat

Is the ticking time bomb in my head or your bag

(Asian dub foundation, the enemy of the enemy)

Palestinians rejoiced as rockets hit the northern town of Jenin in the west bank. These were not Israeli rockets, though. The rockets were fired by the Hizbullah and aimed at Israel. However, being statistical weapons, they lost track and hit close to Jenin.
So why did the Palestinians rejoice? Was it because Hizbullah can Hit Israel, or is it because they are now victims as well? The perception of “The Enemy of the Enemy” is a loosely tied federations against a joint cause. Not For but against. Against Israel, and against everything that may help it. That’s why some bad selections are made; mostly bad selections. I guess that it’s the opposite of Israel’s divide and conquer. But it still doesn’t do any party any good.

I do believe that in order to end this, one needs to understand that peace, real sustainable peace, should be the catalyst to end this war. Normal relations between normal people, who wish to live. I’d love to go to Beirut to tour, and to drink Arak at Zakhala and i want Lebanese to come visit here and have more places to go to. For that, i do think we need peace. We need to call our leaders to have a peace agreement, and not just a cease-fire.

On other matters, I just have one comment on Mustapha’s insight regarding the Hizbullah. Mustapha states, in loose support of the Hizbullah that:

Abortion is one of the most divisive political issues in the US. The discourse on the topic gets so venomous sometimes that people on both ends of the spectrum call each other terrible names. Nevertheless, if you’re someone who believes Abortion is a crime, and Mexico, a heavily catholic country, invades Liberal areas to get rid of the pro-choice people, whom would you support? The Mexican aliens who have your same political agenda or your fellow Americans? I leave that one to you.

The only comment is that the pro-choice people in the US did not bomb Mexico and are not holding the pro-life group at the force of the gun. I know it’s hard to understand, but the Hizbullah is a terror organization. That’s why it’s being supported by other terror groups and being used in order to promote other’s interests and not Lebanese interests. (though i resent the whole Axis of Evil doctrine).

  1. Comments are invited about the proposed solution to the Arab-Isreali crisis.

Is a “Two State” solution the best way forward?

Does this address the “root cause” of the problem?

Any suggestions or proposal on what will work?

    Please contribute!!!!

    Thanks

  2. Jonathan..the anti-abortion people for quite a while would kill doctors and nurses who performed legal abortions, as in abortion clinics. Not all of them of course, but some of these religious fanatics in the name of saving an innocent life would not think twice about taking another one’s. I too hope that Israel and the Palestinians can work towards a sustainable (saying that as permaculture practitioner) peace. Sustainability is also key because of the geographical and weather challenges. I myself tend to think that a one state solution would be the best for a few reasons. I am working on a post on that which I hope to post this weekend. Hope being the key word, my husband is off on a three day silent retreat and I am with the kiddies alone..
take care Jonathan, I like what you wrote btw..
